Great Lakes Trekking in Kashmir offers an awe-inspiring adventure through some of the most breath-taking landscapes in the world. This trek takes you across pristine high-altitude lakes, lush meadows, and rugged mountain terrain, providing panoramic views of the Himalayas. Spanning approximately 70 kilometres, the route showcases Kashmir’s diverse beauty, from emerald green meadows to stark, glacial lakes. Trekkers will encounter alpine forests, vibrant wildflowers, and serene blue lakes like Vishansar and Krishansar. With its moderate to challenging trails, the trek caters to both seasoned hikers and enthusiastic beginners, promising a unique and memorable journey through Kashmir’s natural splendor.

You'll start your journey from Srinagar and drive to Sonmarg, which is about 80 km away. You'll drive through beautiful meadows and valleys, and the road offers stunning views of the surrounding mountains. After reaching Sonmarg, you'll set up your campsite for the night stay.

On this day of the trek, you'll start your trek towards Nichnai. The trail passes through dense forests of pine and fir, and you'll cross several streams and waterfalls on the way. You'll also get to see beautiful meadows and small villages along the way. You'll reach Nichnai, which is at an altitude of 3,500 meters, in the afternoon. You'll set up your campsite for the night in Nichnai.

After breakfast, you'll trek to Kishansar lake, which is one of the most beautiful high altitude lakes in the region.The trail is steep and challenging, but the views of the valley and the surrounding mountains are breathtaking. You'll reach Kishansar lake, which is at an altitude of 3,800 meters, in the afternoon. After spending some time at Kishansar lake, you'll trek further to Vishansar lake, which is another beautiful high altitude lake located nearby. You'll set up your campsite for the night near Vishansar lake.

After breakfast, you'll start your trek towards Gadsar lake. The trail passes through rocky terrain and you'll come across several streams and waterfalls on the way. You'll also get to see beautiful meadows and small villages along the way. You'll reach Gadsar lake, which is at an altitude of 3,700 meters, in the evening. You'll set up your campsite for the night near the lake.

On day 5, you'll trek to Satsar, which is a group of seven small lakes located in a beautiful meadow. The trail passes through rocky terrain and you'll cross a few streams on the way. You'll reach Satsar, which is at an altitude of 3,800 meters, in the afternoon. You'll set up your campsite for the night near the lakes.

After breakfast, you'll trek to Gangbal, which is a beautiful high altitude lake surrounded by snow-capped peaks. The trail passes through meadows and rocky terrain, and you'll come across several streams and waterfalls on the way. You'll reach Gangbal, which is at an altitude of 3,800 meters, in the evening. You'll set up your campsite for the night near the lake.

On the last day of the trek, you'll trek to Naranag, which is an ancient temple town located at an altitude of 2,100 meters. From Naranag, you'll drive back to Srinagar, where your trek will end. On the way back, you'll get to see beautiful meadows, valleys, and small villages.
